Hi. I'm the de-facto IT Guy at a small business, and I'm having trouble gaining access to our new SoundStation IP 6000. I know our DHCP server address, but there doesn't seem to be any place in the network options for me to enter the address itself, though there are a lot of options that have to do with how to access the server. Every other SIP phone we've bought, I've been able to just enable DHCP and it gets on the network. Instead, if I just enable it without changing any of the settings in the DHCP menu, it tells me it "Failed to get boot parameters via DHCP". What gives with this thing?
Edit:
- I have ensured that the Soundstation IP 6000 is connected to a switch that is connected to our network. The same switch, in fact, that our DHCP server is on.
- Our DHCP server is run by our Windows 2008 R2 server.
- I have set the DHCP option to Custom + Option 66.

Actually, it wasn't the boot server setting or anything like that.
My solution was under the ethernet menu - I deleted the value for VLAN ID and it started working.

welcome to the Polycom Community.
- A DHCP Server provides the phone with an IP address etc.
- A BootServer provides the phone with its software and configuration

So basically, what I need to do is set up an FTP account on FileZilla and point the root directory to a folder containing the updates found at those links, then configure the server menu to access that account, right?
