Hello everyone!

Sorry to hear a lot of you are having the same issues. I recently did an update on my computer and I'm not surprised the touchscreen isn't working again!!

I contacted the help desk on messenger and the HP guy said I need to reboot/reset the system. I actually don't have any way to store my data externally to get this done and I've done it previously without any luck so I'm pretty sure it won't work this time.

I'm really disappointed in HP for not solving this problem as the touchscreen is one of the main features of this all-in-one PC and it seems more and more people are facing the same issue. Why didn't HP recall them or get them fixed?!

I will be contacting them again!

I have done everything possible to fix this but it turns out to be a hardware problem not a software problem.

I have this exact same issue with my HP Pavilion 27-A227c.  At some point, while it was under warranty, the touchscreen just stopped working.  It doesn't show up under the Device Manager, and attempting to reinstall the drivers for the touchscreen result in a message that says there isn't an ILITEK touchscreen installed.  It seems to be related to a Windows 10 update, but HP hasn't seemed to address it in any way, other than blaming it on a hardware issue, which doesn't make sense given how many folks have seemed to have experienced this across models.  Unless this is a class action waiting to happen or something.

We have the same issue with an All in One HP All in One 27-a227c computer. It just stopped working recently which may be a result of the Windows 1903 upgrade which was done in March 2020.    It is very disturbing that there is no fix for this.

@ECShep We've got you covered, although, here's a few things I need to help you out:

Did you check if the touchscreen works in the BIOS Screen?

  • This would help us determine if this is either a software or hardware related issue, hence I request you tap on F10 during a PC restart and check if you can use the touch feature to select options outside windows.
  • If it doesn't work, this could be a hardware malfunction.
  • If it works, please use the HP website to download all the latest drivers for your device using this link: click here

As indicated by many on this issue, which is in a couple of areas on this site, the touchscreen option has vanished from the BIOS screen.  After the update, it is just gone.

I restarted the HP 27-a227c All-In-One computer using F10. The touchscreen still does not work in that mode.

I do not believe that it is a hardware issue as it was working fine until recently which may have coincided with the Windows 1903 update in March.

It appears from the forums that there is a problem that HP needs to fix as it is very unlikely that many HP All-In-One touchscreens all developed hardware issues around the same time.

Please help.
