My last post wasn't specific and I am not tech savvy so forgive me but this time the attachments should help you help me.  Also I need specifics on upgrades please not just "common" answers and assume I should know the rest, because I don't.  M.2 SSD, last reply on other post said maybe a Samsung Evo 970 would work,  in not spending the money on someone's "should work" I don't need a whole lot of ssd though more is better they say but would like more than 128Mb but no more then 512. Also,  what should go here or what needs to go here in the one left of the m.2 SSD that is labeled X1PCIEXP2?? Remember, this is just a Ryzen 5 3500 with GTX 1650.  Nothing fancy, just budget, and just looking to raise my budget a bit if you know what I mean.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  Oh, and I have on the way 2- DDR4-8Gb 2666mhz RAM with heatsink. Right now it only has 1 8Gb in it so that will help some.

Lastly,  would adding an additional HDD be of any use? Just installed a Toshiba 1T and works great but wondering if a additional one would be of use or just a waste?

Thank you for your time and recommendations.

(Motherboard says Erica1_Erica2 Rev. A ? Is it a 1 or 2? Compatible for both?

hi

In your other message, I already answered you, about the compatibility of your motherboard
If I told you that the m2 SSD should work, it is because it is always, exaggerating, to certify that ..
the mentioned SSD works on a similar model, and other HP motherboard, often mentioned

but your first message, was not very precise, just like this last one
I have already told you that what you should know for the pci slot is what you need, because we can tell you anything and everything, this type of slot can be used with many pci card, different, such as a card with other usb ports, a network card, a video acquisition card

I understand, that you don't want to spend your money unnecessarily, but in this case, you should then proceed step by step
no need to do everything at the same time, moreover as you specify, you are not "tech savy"
, too many questions, answers, and you will mix up your brushes

your motherboard is this one

HP name: Erica SSID: 8643

"Oh, and I have 2x DDR4-8GB 2666MHz RAM with heatsink on the way. Right now it's only 1 8GB so that will help some people."
I mentioned motherboard compatibility.
So if it's a question, as it was mentioned

Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets

there are only two memory slots
so as there is often incompatibility between modules, if you have the same two, then try, they seem to have the same frequency..
the acceptance of memory modules, on the motherboard is quite random, see this, while often it will not work, for me, it worked, even with different modules

upgrade computer h9-1228ef mot...

as for the hard disk, well if you install an m2 ssd, you already have an HDD disk, it's still up to you, would you need more disk space, maybe not ..
and if so, the simplest will be an additional, but external disk, much more practical ..
