I plugged the GT-1030 card into my p7-1227c. Windows booted and allowed me to install Nvidia Game ready drivers. I saw the displayer adpater is the new GT-1030. The display looked good.
But my pc failed to boot after power off and power on. There are 6 plus beeps during the boot process. Sometime I was able to press Esc key to get BIOS and select a boot device to boot into Windows 10. Sometimes it just froze there after I pressed Esc key and it did not go to BIOS screen.
I read through the messages on this board and people say it is the boot mode issue. I converted my C drive from MBR to GPT disk and created a boot BCD. Right now I can boot my pc into UEFI mode as shown below.
System Name TAHOE
System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
System Model p7-1227c
System Type x64-based PC
System SKU H2L95AA#ABA
Processor AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 3400 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date AMI 7.07, 4/20/2012
SMBIOS Version 2.7
Embedded Controller Version 255.255
BIOS Mode UEFI
BaseBoard Manufacturer MSI
BaseBoard Product 2AE0
BaseBoard Version 1.0
My pc did not boot after inserting the gt-1030 graphics card even with UEFI booting.
My pc boots fine after removing the gt-1030 card.
Any suggestion?

Hi:
Unfortunately, your PC's BIOS version of 7.07 is too old to support any Nvidia graphics card beyond the GT 6xx series.
Your PC needs to have a BIOS version of 8.1x or newer to run a Nvidia GT 7xx or newer, such as the GT 1030.
HP did not release any newer BIOS updates for your PC.

hi
only for information
the computer could become unusable
There is an 8.xx version, but hard to say if it would work
So only as a last resort, at your own risk.
I would advise to test, if you finally think of replacing the computer and that nothing to lose therefore!

Thanks Promethee!
I'm willing to take a risk to upgrade to 8.xx version.
Where can I find the BIOS 8.xx ? The BIOS upgrades are not available on those HP links now saying "We were unable to find drivers for your product."
I tried a website www.driversforhp.com(??) to get the 8.xx but I ended up a driver scanning software which in turn requires to activate something.... which I'm not sure if it is a reputable website.
https://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Radeon-7750-miniDP-Graphics/dp/B009ZQ5HW6. Anyone knows if this graphics card Radeon 7750 will work with p7-1227c ? This card was first available in november , about the same time frame when p7-1227c cames out.
Thanks again.

Got the answer from this link :
Although the Radeon Rx460 pci 3.0m SHOULD be compatible with the BIOS that the p7-1227c shipped with (AMI 7.07 4/20/2012), as PCI 3.0 is backward compatible with PCI 2.0 which p7-1227c does support, the BIOS in fact does NOT support PCI 3.0. It prevents the system from booting.
So the question is where I can find this BIOS 8.x upgrade

No, I don't have the graphics card now.
I have returned it after spending two days : reading the message board, converting my C drive MBR to GPT , making it boot into UEFI mode but still graphics card not working, frustrated :-).
I did not read your reply before I returned it. I should read this forum earlier.
I have got a new 4k monitor. My pc p7-1227c video output is only 1920x1080 which looks fuzzy on 4k monitor.
I need a better graphics card to hook up with 4k monitor, not for gaming.
