I think you may have unintentionally used a double negative.

It's just semantics. 😉

"I don't consider the issue resolved until I don't have "IDE" choice in BIOS - SATA Emulation"

I can ask about this internally. What you are describing sounds pretty strange.

What is the BIOS family?

After looking at your screen-shot picture, what is available on the "Configurazionne del dispositive" item ?

If 'F10' and 'ESC' work at that point, try 'F1' to get "help" about which other keys (Enter, Up, Down, PageUp, PageDown) should also work.

Yes, sorry, my english isn't so good 😉

I don't consider the issue resolved until *I have* "IDE" choice in BIOS - SATA Emulation

The BIOS Family is MAN VA0.24

in all other section where there's a coiche, the left and right arrows work to change between the possibilities.

For what you ask (I set BIOS language in English)

Hitting "RETURN" on this voice opens the following box

with no options, F10 = ESC = it returns to the previous screen

Good morning,

this morning I received n. 6 HP 280 G2 computer and I had the same problem. After an hour I found the solution. First you enter to the BIOS, under "protection", enable "support legacy." Restarted the PC and .. good job !bios 280 g2.jpeg

Instead of selecting the "Device Configuration" option,

move down one row, and select "Storage Options",

and take another snapshot of the screen.

The "triangle-pointing-to-the-right" implies that some keyboard keys can be used, either left/right arrow, or up/down arrow, or page-up/page-down, or ENTER to open a secondary menu, where 'IDE' will be listed as an option.

The screenshot you are asking for is in post #25

It's in italian, "Storage Option" is "Opzioni di archiviazione"

You can see that is open the submenu with the selected option "AHCI", I open the choice page and the only selectable option is "AHCI"

I had the same problem but I used a Windows 7 OEM DVD Disk and it worked well. This problems comes if you are installing from a USB Disk.
