Download the driver from HP and add it to the USB-Stick. Your stick is not the problem. That works.

I got to Bios (2) and selected Feb 9, 1015 download, but I don’t understand the *exec because you need *.inf-

based drivers. I use 7-Zip for this. How do you do that?

A new flashdrive will not help. Do you know how to copy the installation files to a separate partition on your installation drive?

The best way is to connect your drive to a different computer and create 2 partitions. One for the setup and one for the installation files.

Here’s the  picture of download as you recommended on my flash drive, and still getting same reaction of no drivers detected. What’s up?DownloadDownload

Your Flash-Drive looks good. But you never mentioned that you replaced the HDD. You should buy a SSD. If you don't find the right bracket, you can fix it by tape, because it doesn't have moving parts and it's not heavy.

In the setup-page where you select the drive you see a yellow star (new). Select that and choose an appropriate size in MB.

(ex. 120 GB x 1024 =122880). Then the recovery partition will be placed at the right position. The Partition for files can be added later from the OS.

I did buy the SSD like you suggested, and replaced the HDD that was the original.
