Brand new Hp pavilion touchsmart shows black screen after login

Hi! Im having same problem i bought my HP all in one HP 21 -2029 last year only November 23, 2014. When i turn on my Desktop the hp logo is appear, but when i enter my password its begin to load then after that it become black screen. Pls help me. Thanks

hi am am curerently doing what yous said it seems to be working but i am curious as to why my lap top has done this in the first place? considering its ony 2 days old 

atleast if i no i can avoid it happening again

Hi 'i have the same problem with my HP-P189SA.  Had it less than 2 weeks and had to take it back to Currys 3 times.  They won't refund as they say there is nothing wrong with the laptop itself and we are doing it.  All we done this time was a HP update.  The last time it happend they said it had trojons on it.

I have fixed this problem on my HP pavillion which is only one month old. Start the computer and when you make it to the black screen press crtl, shift, and then esc. This will bring up your system monitor. Dig around in there until you find the file explorer and then find your control panel. It took a minute but i got the control panel up. Select updates. Select search for latest update. Install the update listed then presto, problem fixed. I believe my black screen problem started from an update that crashed before completing and microsoft put a new patch/update to fix it. Whatever the latest update is, it has the fix to this problem on it. Enjoy!

I have a Hp pavilion X360 , it was working fine until yesterday when i turned it on the screen went black but the cursor does move and when i press the airplane mode button i receive it displays it on screen. But it remains black. I cant remove the battery since its built in , i tried ctrl + alt + dlt nothing is working !

just happined to my grandaughters hp pavilion touchsmart black screen wile watching a movie, called us techsupport , thay said memory board needs replaced

That's exactly what happened to us, in the end I caused such a stink that they exchanged it for another make.

she's had it for 6 months, we're going to take it back I will let you know what happens, the guy at ustech support said it's a common problem with HP's.don't know if I want another one, I'll see if they give us a new model
