Awesome stuff so thanks to those that advised me on the specs I needed.

I purchased a evga 430 watt psu and the asus gtx 750ti overclocked 2gb edition and turned up today, ten minutes later had it all installed and running... what a massive massive change compared to the gt705 that was in there standard.

A bit of a squeeze with all the massive cables out the psu which involved some slight movement to fit in but the graphics card fitted with loads of room to spare compared to what I thought there would be, even with the 6pin power connector attached that the asus card requires.

I shall post an internal shot up later but again, thanks to those who helped mention the power specs for the psu, much appreciated.

And to those with a 500-319na the geforce gtx 750ti fits in the case with ease

Hello big_Dave,

Many thanks for the reply.

I do have already a 4k monitor that will replace both

Of the existing ones.

Can you please recommend a power supply that will fit ?

And lastly can you please expand on why the nvidia won't work? Bios? Motherboard?

Many thanks!

Hi,

The NVIDIA 740 has a compatibility issue with the BIOS level in your PC.

There are many power supplies that will fit in your PC but you should match the need with the graphics card that you select.

Hi again Big_Dave,

Thanks for the clarification.

Is there anything more than just power output

To consider for the PSU? If I want to order one

Online what do I look for to make sure it fits?

Also, in looking at the HP support site under drivers

- there is a driver update specifically for nvidia - is this

Worth updating at all for the 740 to maybe work?

Then you for all your help!

Hi Zohan777,

Drivers are not your issue if your can't get past the BIOS screen.

There are numerous power supply units that fit the HP ATX PSU dimensions of 5.5 by 3.4 by 5.9.  A PSU with the dimensions 5.5 by 3.4 by 6.3 might be a little tight but I had this size in my HP e9280t.

There is a thread in the Hardware area for power supplies. Guide for Selecting a Power Supply

Thank you again Big_Dave.

I'm ordering the following based on your various points (& pricing):

1 x Corsair CX750 Builder Series ATX 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Power Supply

1 x PowerColor AMD Radeon HD7850 2GB GDDR5 6Mini DisplayPorts PCI-Express Video Card  AX7850 2GBD5-6DE

Will this work?

Thank again for all your help!

Thank you Big_Dave!

I'm running Windows 7 - does this issue still applies to my situation?

Many thanks!

Hi,

You can disregard those settings if your PC is booting up with Windows 7.
