Interesting...

Use the one directly from Broadcom.

Select the XP 32 bit version.

http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netxtreme_desktop.php?legacy=1

You will need to manually install the driver.

You will need to unzip the download and put the drivers in a folder.

Then click on the ethernet controller in the device manager with the ? mark.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on update driver. Select the manual search and browse to the driver folder you unzipped the drivers to.

You should select the b57win32.inf file and hopefully the driver will install that way.

I would be grateful if you could help my friend.

He's missing the ethernet controller driver. Here's the string of codes:

PCI/VEN_14E4&DEV_1600&SUBYS_3010103C&REV_01

I can't find the right download, it's Intel Pentium 4 HP. I need to download it on my USB flash drive. :S

I have a similar problem. Hard disk crashed. Reinstalled XP Pro with SP2 on HP Pavilion a1642x. Downloaded drivers from HP, but installation fails for many with the same issue.

As I don't have a working network adapter, I'd be very greatful for some help. the PCI\Ven number is:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_104C&SUBSYS_2A36103C&REV_02\3&2411E6FE&02&C8

Thanks.
