I have the same problem. I am surprised that that this issue is running from 2011!!! I have windows 8.1 64 bit and this HPSF.exe is crashing evey time it trys to read the message. Uninstalled and Reinstalled umteen times. No luck. The solution for windows 7 does not work for windows 8 as Microsoft did not create Microsoft Fixit Remover for Windows 8 😞

This microsoft link may work, it seems to apply to windows 8 http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/en-us

I have tried the link Ted: Microsoft does not allow me to install the software giving me this message: "We're sorry, but your operating system is not supported by Microsoft Fix it at this time"

That's a shame; I don't have Windows 8 so am probably not going to be able to help further.  Under Windows 7 I've found the (free) Wise Uninstaller good for removing programs and associated registry entries http://www.wisecleaner.com/wiseuninstallerfree.html .  After running it I'd advise rebooting to make sure everything is cleared out.

Good luck

Hi,

Thanks very much for suggestion on uninstaller. I will certainly give it a go when I next need it. Thanks

Thank you Ted, I used the un-installer. It is working fine so far. I did not try to read HP mesdages (usually it crahes here. ) I believe I can live without reading them.

hpsf.exe stopped working how do i fix

Read this forum which has some suggestions for both Windows 7 and 8.  If nothing works then post what you've done and your operating system environment and someone may be able to help.

how I can fix my pc if this thing stoped,,

If you're running Windows 7 look back at previous posts which seem to give a good solution.  The Windows 7 solution doesn't completely work for Windows 8, but as a partial solution try  the (free) Wise Uninstaller good for removing programs and associated registry entries http://www.wisecleaner.com/wiseuninstallerfree.html .  After running it I'd advise rebooting to make sure everything is cleared out.  This removed the program for one poster.

Otherwise post your Operating System and see if anyone else can help.
