I have the same problem. What's up with this horrible system integration?

A while back, HP released a firmware update that fixes the problem somewhat, reducing the reserved memory to 1.1 GB, try installing the latest UEFI, and disabling PlayReady in the BIOS Setup Utility, that should fix this issue, however, it may prevent "PlayReady Protected Content" from playing, so do note that.

I'll give that a try and report back. Guess I'm going to have to "fix" this myself by buying a stick of RAM.

Any chance I can use the iGPU for some sort of crossfire setup since I'm boned on the hardware?

Thanks. I can confirm that after disabling PlayReady my available RAM has risen to 6.9gb.

Same on my system.
