HP ENVY Photo 6232 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Error: Cartrige does not communicate correctly with printer. If problem persists change cartrige.

(It shows it being the black cartrige)

Does anyone know how to solve this?

I took the cartriges out and placed them in again. It didn't help. I went through HP Smart help, but it didn't help.

I'm paying 'Instant INK' to send me cartriges when they're low on ink.

Thanks in advance

UPDATE: Had the same problem again a week later. It worked to take out the black cartridge and put it in again twice. This leads me to belive the problem is not with the cartridge but with the printer's interface to the cartridge. Next time I get this problem I will try to clean the interface.

Update: The problem is solved.

Not sure what worked but I did 3 things. I took the cartridges out several times and turned the printer off and on.

And then I also turned the wireless off and on again. Now it works.

Thanks for your answers.

I have been working on this problem for two days. Sometimes is resolves by turning off the printer and router and rebooting, cleaning the cartridges but now nothing is working.  This seems to be a weird way to get you to buy ink that you don't need, right?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The color cartridge I received by mail through my Inst Ink subscription is not "communicating correctly" with my printer. I need a replacement for this defective cartridge. Is there a way to speak with a live person on this issue?? I have spent far too much time trying to chat with virtual agents and trying to click around the web to find a solution. The black ink cartridge is working fine, the color ink cartridge is not. Is there an easier way to fix this issue? Honestly, I am so frustrated with this situation that I am ready to cancel my subscription to Insta Ink and go buy a new printer that is NOT HP.

Your story is so similar to mine. I experienced all the same frustrations. I finally gave up, canceled my subscription and went to Costco to buy XL cartridges.

The problem persists for me also every time i try to print something. The printer "thinks" my cartridges are not communicating well with the printer.
I can however have it solved occasionally by running the "hp print and scandoctor" app. After running the diagnostics i can print a test page without a problem. This means there's in fact not a problem with the cartridge at all ... i'm actually not amased. i realise you're trying to sell cartridges at HP instead of printers ... it was actually cheaper for me to buy this printer instead of continuing with my previous one because the cartridges were included 😉

i have installed two new XL tricolor cartridges and I still get the message about no ink.  This is expensive and my printer isn't printing.

Not working after you bought new cartridges?

That's irritating.

It must mean the problem is not with the cartridges.

Have you tried turning the wireless off and on?

There is also a problem with the cartridge. It is not the correct size but i=s small like it was bought at a store.
