I received this HP LaserJet MFP M140we secondhand and no longer have contact with the previous owner. I completed a full factory reset and connected the printer to Wi-Fi, but setup fails because the printer is still associated with another HP account.
Error code: UA_400_EB000U0422
The HP app states that the printer is associated with another account, and the printer will not print. I need HP assistance removing the previous account association or transferring ownership so I can use the printer with my HP account.
I do not have access to the previous owner’s account.

Contact the instant ink team as you have an "e" printer
This is all I know about Instant Ink and other subscriptions.
I do not have an instant ink printer. My understanding is that if you run out of ink, or you cancel your subscription, you can use genuine Hewlett Packard cartridges either original or refilled. They must have an HP chip in the cartridge. The below type is unlikely to work.
Note that this is a peer to peer forum and I am just the messenger of this bad news: Instant ink cartridges can only be used when the ink subscription is active. HP is not the only company that wants their own ink used. The last time I checked, Epson, Canon and Brother all do the same.

Open web browser, enter printer IP address to access the printers EWS.
You need to log in as administrator, top right of the screen. User leave it blank, password use the PIN number that is on a white label when you lift the toner access door.
Once you log as admin on the left you have menu, find restore to factory setting and apply it.
The restore to factory setting is not available if you didn't log in as an administrator
