I bought ink from Walmart and it doesn’t work

I bought 64 xl and tri color 64 for my hp envy 7800 printer. It said ink cartridges were incompatible. Went and bought the same ink at Walmart and it works. Walmart won’t let me return the bad cartridges.

1 - Possibly it is just a problem with dried ink on the printhead.

Some printers have a printhead cleaning procedure.

To clean the printhead on an HP printer, access the printer settings through the HP Smart app, navigate to "Print Quality Tools," and select "Clean Printhead"; this will initiate a cleaning cycle where the printer will automatically run a cleaning process to clear any clogs in the printhead

Inkjet and printhead cleaning kits are available

Consumer inkjet printer printheads typically last for several years, with some lasting up to 10 years or even longer. However, the lifespan can vary greatly depending on usage, maintenance, and environmental factors.

2 - Fake ink?  Very unlikely, but possible if ink supplied by from a 3rd party

To check if an HP ink cartridge is genuine, look for a security label on the cartridge, scan the QR code on the label with your phone, and then go to HP's website hp.com/go/ok to verify the serial number on the label; if the label appears tampered or the serial number doesn't validate, the cartridge is likely not genuine. Also, check expiration date.
