I recently had to replace my Photosmart C309A printer and I bought an Envy 7640.
The problem is I cannot determine how the color management of this printer works. Does it always do its own color management or is there a way to do application-managed color management?
Also, can I profile the printer (I have Datacolor's printer profiling kit) and if so, should I?
The "generic" HP description of color management located at
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00286904
doesn't seem to apply to the 7640.
Did I buy the wrong printer for accurate color printing?
Thanks very much,
Stan

Hi @Stan-R,
Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.
Color management is set to default in these printers and hence cannot be changed. For Photoshop, you may select Printer-Managed.
You have a good day ahead.

Hi @Stan-R,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you wanted to know if color management feature is available in HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer.
This printer uses only two cartridges tricolor and black. Hence there is no color management option.
Your old printer was using 5 cartridges, hence there was a color management option.
You have a good day ahead.
