Interchangeability of 952 and 954 series cartridges

Hi,

I received a brand new HP Officejet Pro 8210 printer last year as a gift.  The printers original genuine HP is a different ink # (954) than the genuine replacement HP Ink # (952). I am unable to purchase much less find ink for this printer. How does one resolve this issue without purchasing a new printer?  And how does one avoid having the same issue with the next printer?  The printer is out of warranty. From what I have learned researching solution for this problem, it might be possible to reprogram the printer to accept 952 type ink instead of 954.  If reprogramming the printer is a possibility, how does it get done? 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

HP Printers - Find and Install Cartridges after Moving to another Country.  The printer needs to be regionalized to the new country by contacting HP directly.

You will need new cartridges from the country you are in at the time you contact HP below.
