Hi @Ferd76,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the details. The issue where your HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw shows “System Initialize” and then powers off when you press any button usually indicates a firmware or hardware initialization failure. This can happen due to:

  • Corrupted firmware.
  • Power supply instability.
  • Internal controller fault.

Recommended Steps

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn the printer OFF.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back and from the wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer ON and check if it completes initialization.

2. Update Firmware (if printer stays ON long enough)

3. Check Power Source

  • Ensure the outlet provides a stable voltage.
  • Try a different outlet if possible.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
