I have had an M477nfw printer for just a few months and a few weeks ago it started printing black streaks horizontally across each page.  Thes streaks look like faded black lines every inch or so on the page.  I have tried to clean the glass, printheads and updated drivers but still have the same problem.  It's really frustrating to find an answer through all the automated website.  I'm to the point I may just return it.  Too frustrating.m477fnw_streaks.jpg

Swap the toner cartridge incase it is defective.

By looking at the frequency of the repetitive defect, we can determine what is causing the problem.  In your case, if the black horizontal lines repeat every inch, that means that the problem is most likely in the black cartridge.

It might be caused by the developer roller (0.89 in), primary charging roller (0.93 in) or RS roller (1.17 in).  All of them are in the cartridge.

If the distance is 1.38 in, the problem is with the Intermediate Transfer Belt (ITB).
