Hi @Debbie19641,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are facing print quality issues.

To fix HP 3700 print quality issues like streaks or faded prints, first run the automatic printhead cleaning cycles through the HP Smart app. If that doesn't work, replace any low or empty ink cartridges. You can also manually clean the ink cartridges by wiping the contacts and printhead with a lint-free cloth or a damp, lint-free cloth

1. Clean the printhead using the HP Smart app

  • Open the HP Smart app and click your printer.
  • Go to Tools and then Print Quality Tools.
  • Select Clean Printhead or Clean and follow the on-screen instructions to run the cleaning cycles.
  • Print a test page and check the quality. If it's still unacceptable, run the second and third-level cleanings.

2. Replace ink cartridges

  • If cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, replace the cartridges. If black areas are defective, replace the black cartridge; if color areas are defective, replace the tri-color cartridge.
  • You can also try cleaning the cartridges manually:
    • Remove the cartridges and inspect the bottom for ink.
    • Use a damp, lint-free cloth or a lint-free cloth with a small amount of water to gently wipe the printhead area.
    • Replace the cartridges and see if the print quality improves.

3. Check for other solutions

  • Check ink levels: Make sure the cartridges aren't low or empty, as this can cause poor print quality.
  • Check for firmware updates: Go to the printer's settings or the HP support website to check for any available firmware updates.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
