Initially I connected a ethernet cable and the printer was up and running without issue. A couple days later I got an error message “Network Cable Disconnected”, although it is connected, and there are no blinking LEDs at the port location. I’ve done all the prudent troubleshooting to no avail. Searching online there's apparently a way to reactivate the port but the solution was posted privately.
Since then I’v been trying to connect to the network using the USB but can’t seem to get an IP Addy to access the Utility so this great printer is unfortunately just sitting idle and I’m using any of the several much older HP printers I have.
Any help would be appreciated.

Print off a configuration page from the printer and confirm what the current IP address is. Once you know the IP then type the IP into a web browser to confirm you can communicate with the printer at that IP.
Chances are your printer is on DHCP with an automatic IP. Your printer IP may have changed which breaks your computers connection to it. Reinstalling with the current IP address will resolve this problem. A permanent fix to IP address changes is to move your printer to a static IP address.

Hi @Mick12342,
If your printer is connected to your LAN via an ethernet cable and the LEDs are not blinking, then please check the following:
1) Remove the ethernet cable and inspect the ethernet port of the printer for any damage on the contacts. If there is damage on the contacts, then the ethernet port needs fixing or replacing.
2) If you can't see any obvious damage on the contacts, then try with another ethernet cable. Maybe the cable is damaged.
3) If the printer is connected to a router try a different port on the router.
Let me know with any update on this issue.
Cheers!
