i have 2 of these printers, in 2 different locations. all of a sudden neither of them work. when i run the test (using the HP Utility 5.29.3) it says "Username or password is incorrect. Ensure both user account and password are valid". this used to work on both of them, now neither work. i am positive that my apple password for iCloud is entered correctly.
I have no problem printing to them, if i select "apps" on the touch panel, they load - that would seem to indicate the printer is able to get out to the internet?
any ideas?

Hi! @ElAtun, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand you are getting username or password incorrect while using scan to email function.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Are you able to login to your HP connected account?
Can login to EWS page and try scan to email function and check if you are able to send the email.
Please try the steps recommended below to setup scan to email function on your printer.
On the left navigation pane, click the Administration link.
In the Enabled Features area, set the Scan to Email option to On.
Click the Scan tab.
On the left navigation pane, click the Outgoing E-mail Profiles link.
On the Outgoing E-mail Profiles page, click the New button.
In the E-mail Address area, complete the following fields:
In the Your E-mail Address field, enter the sender’s email address for the new outgoing email profile.
In the Display Name field, enter the sender’s name. This is the name that will display on the printer control panel.
In the SMTP Server Settings area, complete the following fields:
In the SMTP Server field, enter the address of the SMTP server.
In the SMTP Port field, enter the SMTP port number.
In most cases, the default port number does not need to be changed.
If you are using a hosted SMTP service such as Gmail, verify the SMTP address, port number, and SSL settings from the service provider’s Web site or other sources. Typically, for Gmail, the SMTP address is smtp.gmail.com, port number 465, and the SSL should be enabled.
Please refer to online sources to confirm these server settings are current and valid at the time of configuration.
If you are using Google™ Gmail for email service, select the Always use a secure connection (SSL/TLS) check box.
Refer this article to know more information about a scan to email function.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Went through the setup and everything is correct.
note that this worked for months on an HP printer at my home in Glen Ellyn, IL, the exact same printer at my condo in Chicago, IL, and also on a samsung printer i have in my condo in Naples, FL.
I am using the same computer to access all 3 of these computers, for what that's worth...
all 3 printers were working (scan to email function), now none of them are working. so i have to think Apple broke something and that it's not the printer - any ideas?
i can use the app in the HP printer to scan and send an email, but i would like the original option to work as it always had. thanks for your efforts!
any additional suggestions would be welcomed...

@ElAtun, It's great to hear from you again, I was indeed waiting for your response.
Please try the steps recommended below.
Here is the information that you need for your service provider to open ports on your router/modem.
- Multicasting needs to be turned on
- Bonjour enabled for Airprint
- Mac filtering needs to be turned off
- Also, make sure your router has current firmware update if
needed
- Turn on dmz mode on the router and enable it for the printers IP address
Ports to open are : Eprint and Apps
Incoming Ports.
UDP
80
443
------------------
Outgoing Ports
TCP
5222
5223
Also, assign google DNS address and check if it helps.
Input the printer's IP address in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer) and press enter to access that page directly.
Click on the Network tab.
In the left sub-menu, click Networking.
Next, click on Network Address (IP).
Click on Manual DNS Server.
Input Manual Preferred DNS as 8.8.8.8
Input Alternate DNS Server as 8.8.4.4
Click on Apply to finalize this change.
Let me know how it goes!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
