G7500 with EagleEyeIV-12x Kit

We are using Poly HP G7500 with an EagleEye Cube USB  camera and so far an EagleEyeIV 12x camera, the later hooked up to the Poly HDCI extender.

This setup isn't working well. Even in native Poly mode, the EagleEye on the extender would disconnect often, only solution is to power cycle the EE extender.

We now switched to Teams native mode, the Cube USB is working fine. However, the EagleEyeIV is not detected at all. The G7500 runs the very latest OS 4.1.3.

What other option do we have to connect a camera sitting far away from the codec? The 2nd camera is used as a speaker camera and sits on the ceiling. We have a Cat6e cable running between codec and camera location.

Unfortunately an E70 through LLN is not supported in Teams mode either.

are there any other options from 3rd party solutions which work on G7500 in Teams mode and can be put approx. 30m (cable path length) away?

Hello @AlexSennhauser ,

welcome to the HP Poly community.

to my knowledge, our Partner Microsoft does not support any additional cameras. In regards to PolyOS mode and the EE Extender not working would be an issue for our support organization. I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen,

Does that mean your statement here https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Meeting-Room-Solutions/Can-you-use-multiple-cameras-with-G7500-in-Team... is no longer valid and only one USB camera is supported in Teams mode?

Hello @AlexSennhauser

Microsoft has released a feature that does not mean the OEM supports this feature.

See https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Meeting-Room-Solutions/Can-you-use-multiple-cameras-with-G7500-in-Team...

Please work with HP Poly in Switzerland for this.

Best Regards

Hello Steffen,

Been investigating on this, so here is what I found.

Poly supports multiple cameras as per this article: https://docs.poly.com/bundle/polypartnermode-ag-current/page/supported-usb-cameras.html

Microsoft supports multiple cameras on MTRoA as per this documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/teams-devices-feature-comparison

Here also a 5 month old video of Jan showing how it works flawlessly with multi-camera support:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQY1nRIK7oM

Real-Live testing also confirms that: I connected a Poly EagleEye Cube USB to a G7500 which already had an EagleEye Director II connected by HDCI. G7500 was running Teams Mode and both cameras were available in the Teams interface and working. Even the tracking worked on both. Which was kind of surprising since EEDII is on HDCI, but still works. Seems like just the HDCI Extender isn't.

So at least 2 cameras isn't any issue by default.

The only remaining question to the community is: What cameras can be connected to G7500 which allow a longer distance than 30m cable path? Maybe the Logitech Rally Ultra HD PTZ Camera which is on the Poly supported camera list and has an option for Strong USB extension up to 45m.. It's a pity HP Poly has no own product for such scenarios.

Regarding Poly support: I was not able to open any case through the portal here (EM: Support not available). I notified my account manager who asked someone to reach out to me last week, which did not happen.

For now the support is not satisfactory to be honest.
