Hi,

We have a conferens room with a X50 + TC8 in Teams mode.
We are going to license a generic "conferense-user" to sign in so everyone can use the proximity join feature.

How do I license this "conferens"-user?
Can I use a "Microsoft 365 Business Basic"-license?
Or do I need a Teams Room-licens?

Licenses are tied to the user accounts which sign into the collaboration bar.  You can use either a regular user account which often has an E3 license or something similar, or use a dedicated resource account with a Meeting Room license, which would be the most common and cost-effective.

As long as the base license you assign includes Microsoft Teams then it'll work.  Whether or not additional licenses are assigned to the account (like Phone System) will impact what capabilities the device may have.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply.
I will go for a Meeting room license.

I think a simplified step-by-step instruction should be very helpful for many Poly Studio X users, especially when using the equipment in Teams mode.
General articles from Microsoft are somewhat helpful but a "best practice", written by the manufacturer, would really boost the installation process. 😉

Thanks,
Johan
