Hi.

I have over 70 cameras spread over the country. I need to check warranty status on these. When I enter serial number it asks for "Product Number" also. I dont have the product number. An agent said its on the label on the back of the camera but the cameras are nation wide and mounted.....sending a tech around the country to retrieve the product number is not possible.

How can I check my warranty status on these devices?

Thanks.

Hello @Jem41 ,

Welcome back to the HP Poly community.

Simply logging on to the web interface will show the serial (important) and the Mac address:

In addition, the reseller of the Units should be able to supply you with the date the units were delivered as this is were the warranty starts.

A free tool like Poly Lens can display this information and much more.

Best Regards

Thanks Steffen. But its not the serial number I require.....its the Product Number. When I enter the serial number on the HP warranty check portal it asks for the "Product" number also......which is printed on the label on the back of the device. Which in my opinion....is ridiculous. Do HP expect support tech like me to be able to get hands on every device I support? if I can not get the product number remotely how am I supposed to check my warranty status?

Thanks for the response.

Hello @Jem41 ,

https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact/poly-serial-number should not need a Product Number. Usually, this works either with the MAC or the Serial.

EDIT: Only a serial number/Mac address would tell you the warranty status as every X50 has the same Product Number.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen. Thanks again for reaching out. I didnt realise all product numbers are the same for all x50s.........I took the product number from an X50 I have to hand.  But it doesnt help.

Best regards,

Edit: I actually have access to 2 X50s and the product numbers are different on both so I'm not sure that all X50s have the same product number. These two don't.

Best regards.

Hello @Jem41 ,

This may be based on where you got the units from but to raise a ticket or talk to support go to:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact/poly-serial-number

If your serial does not work or is not recognized click on Can’t enter serial number? Click here to select your product type

This would allow you to select the Product and then the options on how to make contact

Best Regards

You may be correct. I have no idea where they shipped from and its difficult to get the invoices/delivery docket. Ive tried a few random EU countries but same result.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Jean,

Thanks for the help. Although it would make sense that a product number should be same, it is not. We have 70 devices and I only have access to 3, and those 3 are X50s, and, each has a different product number. I dont know how the product number is determined......it can not be by model as these are the same, maybe it by batch. Don't know. Anyway after a lot of emails and digging I managed to get the POs for the kits which is what HP wanted, Ive sent that and I'm waiting for them to reply with warranty info. It seems to me to be completely off the scale ridiculous that HP can not give me warranty details by serial number. Why do I need the original invoices? Insane. But thanks for contributing.

If you can get access to the csdp tool, this version appears to be happy using the serial number only, at least for our territory.

Your HP/Poly supplier should be able to help with access. https://csdp2.hp.com/
