I'm now not sure what provisioning is.

I thought it was a way to setup (most) of the settings for a new unit (among other things).

One can download a template file from the device. Great.

If I edit that for a lot of settings generically, what the heck do I do with that to set up new devices.

I see provisioning in Lens for the server.

I can enable the provisioning in the X70.

But what the heck is it going to do then.

I have G7500 units too, but I don't want to provision one of those with an X70 template file.

So - is there a way to import a provisioning config file from an edit version?

About 80% of the system information is the same, then there's some things I would edit in the unit itself via web access.

Thanks!

Hello @Strings123 ,

Welcome back to the HP community.

Unfortunately, your post does not include the currently used Software version for the HP Poly product or the Partner application version you are using. For example, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Rooms, Poly SIP/H.323 mode etc.

This is particularly important, especially in the future, when someone comes across this post in days, months, or years.

Please do not simply edit the original post, but reply with the versions.

In the FAQ or the Read 1st section, we remind users why this is important.

To answer your actual question there is no such thing as standalone provision like we do for our Poly Phone Endpoints aka loading a configuration via the Web Interface.

You have two official provisioning methods:

  • Poly Lens (Free) / At a cost with additional features etc.
  • Poly Clariti Manager (Not free but there is a trial)

Using one of them, you can use CSV files and provision endpoints based on the type, location etc.

Please check => here <= for Clariti Manager or >here< for Poly Lens.

If no other volunteers reply, I suggest you contact our Support organization in your region. Details are in my Signature.

Best regards

Thank you for the reply!

X50 example unit Serial Number: 8L22386A15C7FB
Poly Mode
SIP
Implemented Provisioning on Lens already.
Enabled provisioning on the unit already.

How can I upload a cfg file for deploying or provisioning any X50 or X70 unit?
Lens has no place to upload a cfg file
X50/X70 has no place to upload a cfg file

I'd like to use a template cfg file to do initial setup of a new unit so that a large percentage of the configuration is done, then the final editing for passwords can be done.

Provisioning doesn't do any configuration other that unit updates and some basics.

Some example of cfg file I'd like to update: Things consistent across our site, as well as cfg file edited for things like
Contact Information
SIP Information
Time servers
Monitor, Audio, Video input settings
Exchange Settings
Call Settings.
A myriad of most settings I can implemented from the cfg file

The cfg file template is downloaded from an existing deployed unit. Then edited for mew unit to be installed and configured.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!

Hello @Strings123 ,

Welcome back to the HP community.

I have already replied, telling you that using Poly Lens, you can import a common configuration from a CSV file.

This is a peer-to-peer forum; we cannot provide training on how to do things. I outlined FAQ posts that have been created so you can utilize them

Best Regards
