I just purchased an Office Jet Pro 8710 today. When going through the setup, I selected IT MANAGED by mistake. Now there is no wireless connection. When I press the wireless icon, it says "This feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set up the printer." How do I reconfigure it to be self managed, and get it to connect to my home network?

Did you read the User Guide to try to restore the printer back to factory setting?? Page 141 of the User Guide.
To restore the printer to the original factory settings
1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the
Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).
2. Touch Printer Maintenance .
3. Touch Restore.
4. Touch Restore Settings.
5. Select which function you would like to restore to the original factory settings:
● Copy
● Scan
● Fax
● Photo
● Network
Select Nerwork and try again.

I need it to go back to the initial setup. It went back to my regular screen, and there is no way to get to the wireless setup, because I'm not authorized, evidently.

I'm not sure why they don't document it but very faintly you can see a curved arrow to the bottom left of the LCD panel (in line where you might see the House or Question Mark icon). If you tap this roughly 4 times, eventually you will be brought to a support Menu. Within this menu you'll see left to right arrows and various options to either Reste to Factory Defaults or Enable/Disable Menus. This helped me for when the intial setup was donw with Network disabled.

Inferno1424 actually seems to be helping. Got my wifi light back on. Will attempt to complete printer set up. At least this is a positive step. The key was tapping the return icon in the bottom left of the printer screen four or five times. Thanks Inferno1424. Don't know where you came up with that action but it may work.

Hi @Lhow,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you want to change the setup of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer from IT Managed to Self Managed.
You need to reset the printer to its factory settings and then perform the setup again by selecting Self Managed.
I will be sending the steps in a private message.
Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile.
Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Please reply back on the public post as this Private message box is not monitored.
You have a good day ahead.

Rainbow 23:
I think I need the same solution you provided by private mail to the previous person in the thread. When I initially set up my printer from the box I didn't select the manual setup but the IT administrative option and I lost the wireless icon on the display. Even following the standard instructions for restoring to factory default the wireless option is still missing. While I suspect I could recover it by reinstalling all the software with a cable from my computer (and going the admistrative setup route) I would much prefer to do it wirelessly. I hope to print wirelessly from a Win7 box on a wifi network as well as wifi direct from iPad/iPhone. Could you please send me a copy of these instructions.
