HP Officejet 3830 All-in-one series printer cannot connect to my network. I have tried everything under the sun but the printer Wi-Fi enabled cannot discover my own network when I search for wireless networks available. It discovers other neighbours network but not mine. I have only had the printer for a few days and tempted to return it to the retail outlet.

I have successfully printed by using direct connection to my computer i.e. wirelessly without a router but since then it has become impossible to connect my printer to my known and established network. Please I need help!!!!

Hi @Skija

As the printer is able to detect other wireless networks, it means the wireless radio in the printer is working fine.

  • Restart the wireless router and the printer.
  • Make sure MAC filtering is not enabled on your Wireless router. You may contact your Internet service provider for this information. If this is enabled, the printer may not be on the list of allowed devices to connect to it.
  • Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the PC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

On the printer, go to Setup > Network > Restore network settings

Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard > Choose your network > Enter the password.
