Printer stuck in connecting mode when selecting apps

 

I have been using the printer and scanner without any problems for several months now.  The unit is hooked up to my network wirelessly.  I have no problems with printing and copying; I can still perform these functions.  However, when I want to scan, the printer gets frozen in a 'CONNECTING" mode and never connects.  I tried unplugging the unit to see if that helps but it did not.

So, back to the original issue... any suggestions that aren't useless
