My control panel does not have a ePrint button. To try to enable web services, I click the "Apps" button on the control panel. The screen that pops up is entitled "Enable Web Services. The three things it then lists is: 1. Web Services Not enabled. 2. Make sure the printer is connected to your network and the internet. (It is). 3. Accept terms blah blah blah. I click YES. It then asks if I want auto update. I click YES. It posts the HP logo, thinks for about 3 seconds and then posts the screen entitled UNSUCCESSFUL. Web Services (ePrint and Apps) could not be enabled.
That's it. there's a Enter Proxy button and a retry. Retry fails again. and again. etc. Enter Proxy asks for Web Proxy Authentication, a username and a password. I'm guessing and enter my email and iMac log on password. Then it asks for IP address which I assume is the printer IP address assigned by my router. Then it asks for the port. I have NO idea here, so I entered 1. This obviously fails or I wouldn't be posting this question.

It looks like you were interacting with @senan6806, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.
I suggest you perform a Semi Full Reset first, setup the printer and then connect Web Services again
Since the Semi Full Reset steps are specific to your printer, I will be sending you the instructions in a private message
Please check your private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile.

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
Most of the web services connectivity issues can be resolved by updating the printer firmware, assigning a manual IP and Google DNS. Let's try these steps:
Download and install the latest printer firmware update from here.
Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.
If you are still not able to enable web services, try the steps available here.
Let me know how it goes!

Tried everything you suggested. Nothing helped. Still get the unsuccessful message.
Setting a manual IP is mostly for printers that lose connectivity occasionally. Mine doesn't do that.
I really would like to get web services working. I was on a trip to Australia and wanted to print a document at home. The printer and the computer were still connected and operational. However, I was unable to print. Couldn't find a printer. I didn't even have a clue about how to connect. I'm guessing that HP Smart and web services would have helped.

Apparently, my printer is unable to set up an email address for itself. I can't print to it because I don't have an email address for it. I did find the button to launch the "web Services" setup. However, it has never completed successfully. I have wireless direct setup. I print wirelessly from my iMac. And, when I am at home, I can send print jobs to my printer and use HP Smart app. Works fine. Just not from away from home.
