Hello, I've been having trouble issues with signing on to HP Smart through my Windows 11 desktop - whenever I sign in through a Chrome tab that pops up, I get hit with this error message:
X-request-id: 81842950-bad4-11ef-827b-29d116ea68e9.04ebbf80-cacd-11ef-827b-29d116ea68e9
Does anyone know a workaround for this?

Hi @DanielK022
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems you're encountering an error when trying to sign in to HP Smart on your Windows 11 desktop. The error message you've shared points to a request issue that typically happens due to communication problems with HP's servers or configuration issues on your device. Below are several potential workarounds to resolve the issue:
1. Clear Cache and Cookies in Chrome
Sometimes, outdated or corrupted cache/cookies in your browser can interfere with the login process:
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select More tools > Clear browsing data.
- In the Clear browsing data window, select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
- Close Chrome and reopen it to try logging into HP Smart again.
2. Try a Different Browser
While you’re using Chrome, the issue might be specific to that browser. Try using Microsoft Edge (the default browser in Windows 11) to see if the problem persists:
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Navigate to the HP Smart sign-in page and attempt to sign in.
3. Update HP Smart and Your Browser
- HP Smart: Make sure that HP Smart is up to date. Open the Microsoft Store, search for HP Smart, and check if there is an update available. If so, install it.
- Google Chrome: Ensure that your Chrome browser is up to date. Click the three dots in the upper right corner, go to Help > About Google Chrome. Chrome will check for updates and automatically install them if needed.
4. Check Date and Time Settings
Incorrect date and time settings can sometimes cause issues with online services:
- Right-click on the time/date in the bottom-right corner of Windows 11.
- Select Adjust date/time.
- Ensure that Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically are turned on.
- Restart your computer after making adjustments and try signing in again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I've got the same problem.
I have cleared the cache - TNA
I have tried on 2 browsers (Brave and Edge) - same results.
I tried to create new account on a different email address - Same issue.
I have good time and date settings.
It is irritating that I can't use my scanner without the HP Smart account and I can't log in to my HP account!
