I have moved house and just setting up printer, shows error message 'Cartridge not compatible with your printer', although this is the original cartridge supplied by HP Instant Ink. I have followed the trouble shooting guide; cleaning the cartridge etc, but still shows same error.

I understand after replacing the ink cartridge you are getting incompatible ink cartridge error on your printer.

 

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

 

Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?

 

Does the issue persist when you put the old ink cartridge back to your printer?

 

Please share the complete printer model name to assist you better.

 

Replace low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer.

 

Clean the cartridge contacts and check if it helps.

 

Make sure that the cartridges are inserted correctly

 

Clean the ink cartridge contacts.

 

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. Please share us few details through a private message. So I can check the account and ship you the replacement ink cartridges.

Incompatible cartridge message shows up for 3 reasons:

1. You have the wrong ink cartridge in the printer (doesn't sound like you have this problem)

2. If you have 2 printers you used the Instant Ink cartridges from one printer in the other and the cartridges will not work in any other printer than the original one it was used in.

3. You have an Instant Ink cartridge in a printer that is not signed up for Instant Ink - so you will want to get your printer online and check on your Instant Ink account page at www.hpinstantink.com and see if you still have an active account.

If your account is active and your printer is online then the cartridge may have been damaged in the move and you may need to get a replacement cartridge.

You can contact the call centers if you need another cartridges.
