Since I intsalled my printer I keep getting the following message via my router firewall:
Teardrop or derivative DETECTED on Wed Dec 30 11:21:58 2015
targeting [edited], sent from [edited]\
The IP aadress shown is the fixed IP adress of my printer.
Sometimes when I have to reset the router in order to get the WIFI Connection to work correctly.
I have turned off all options in the printer for cloud printing but tthe message still pops up every couple of days and sometimes a couple of times.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it?

Hey @Nedish1,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.
I understand that you are seeing some messages of a device targetting your printer's IP Address. Most likely that is a web services such as ePrint or Instant Ink, requesting some information on the printer. ePrint needs to know if the printer is online and connected to be able to function and Instant Ink needs to know your printer's printed page counts and ink levels. If you are using web services, and especially if you are using Instant Ink, then I would enable web services and connect the printer to the HP Connected servers again so that these services are not affected.
Please let me know if this resolves your issues or if you have any other questions. Otherwise, have a great day!

I have turned off all external printing services to eliminate them as the cause of my problem. Has not helped. At unexplainable intervals I stll receive messages of a DOS Via my printer!
The printer is connected to my network via Wifi. No other external devices cause any problems. Is it possible perhaps to update the firmware somehow?

These are not Denial of Service attacks. For any web services to function on the printer the printer needs to be able to communicate with our servers. You can remove web services from the printer to stop the printer from trying to communicate with the server, but again, if you are using Instant Ink then you are going to create a lot of issues with the program later.

Just in case someone comes across this thread regarding "bad" network traffic from an HP 6830 being reported as a Teardrop DoS attack, I wanted to mention that I have the exact same situation. I too have a 6830 with a Netgear C3700 modem/router and I see DoS Teardrop attack messages in the log whenever I turn the printer ON or OFF.
I've spent hours investigating this issue including multiple calls to HP Support including their SmartFriend service. Nobody at HP has been able to tell me what's causing the invalid network packets nor come up with any solution.
For now, I've "checked" the following setting in my C3700 as a way of working around the issue:
Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection

My HP 2540 printer keeps showing as offline I have uninstalled it several times but I keep getting message that it has failed to installed using the driver from the HP list of drivers from the website
last time I tried to use it , printed ok fro. My Apple I phone but will not work when usd from my HP laptop
could this be the result oh the DDOs attach that recent occurred in the U.K. Or had the printer got a fault and ready for the bin it has been working fine
