Hi @Chance2x,

I'd like to help!

Try the below suggestions -

Step 1: Install the HP Smart app

Install the HP Smart app, and then add your printer.

  1. On your Windows 10 device, go to HP Smart (in English) to get the app from the Windows Store, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.

  2. After the installation completes, open the HP Smart app.

  3. On the Welcome screen, click Continue, and then Yes.

It allows HP Smart app to collect usage data.

  4. Click one of the following options, depending on your requirement:

    • Set Up a New Printer: Set up a new printer or connect to a printer that has already been set up.

    • Sign in: Create an HP account or sign in to your HP account to use HP Smart features. If prompted for account verification, follow the on-screen steps to find the verification code.

    • Skip for now: Go to the Home screen of the HP Smart app.

  5. On the home screen, click Add Printer or Plus sign.

    NOTE:

HP Smart searches for printers in wireless setup mode or printers that are already connected.

    • Printer in Wireless setup mode: HP Smart lists the printer with model name and Set Up option.

    • Wireless or Ethernet connected printers: HP Smart lists the printer with model name and IP address.

    • USB connected printer: HP Smart lists the printer with model name and USB port.

  6. Select your printer, and then click Continue.

  7. If HP Smart fails to search your printer in initial search, click Set Up a New Printer and choose a method to connect, and then click Continue.

    The Printer Setup screen

  8. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.

If your printer is still not detected, close and open the HP Smart app, and then add your printer again.

Step 2: Print or scan documents and photos

On the HP Smart app home screen, click a tile to print or scan an item from your printer, or scan images with your Windows 10 device's camera.

Print a PDF or photo

Print a PDF or photo saved on your Windows 10 device.

NOTE:

HP Smart currently supports printing of PDF documents and most image files. Print other files types directly from their associated applications, such as Microsoft Word.

  1. From the HP Smart app home screen, click Print Document or Print Photo.

  2. Locate the PDF or photo in the Documents folder or Pictures library, or browse to another folder where the file might be saved.

  3. Select the document or photo you want.

A preview of the print job displays in the Microsoft Print Preview window.

  4. From the Preview window, you can select a different printer or make any changes to the print settings, such as paper size or output quality, if necessary.

  5. From the Preview window, click Print.

The print Preview window closes, the printer prints your document or photo, and the app returns to the home screen.
