Help! I can't get my printer to work. The app says it is "Unavailable". I can't get the wifi light to turn on. Multiple lights (other than the Wifi light) are blinking, along with the error message screen blinking. I've tried leaving it unplugged (both from the printer and the wall) for over 3 minutes. That didn't help at all. One help article said to update my firmware, but I don't know how that's possible with a wifi only printer that isn't connect to wifi.
Any help is MUCH appreciated!!!

Hi @PrinterNotWorkx,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-In-One Printer is experiencing a connectivity issue along with possible hardware errors.
Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet.
- Turn on the Printer: Press the power button to turn it back on.
2. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open All Covers: Check the paper input tray, output tray, and any other accessible areas for paper jams or obstructions.
- Clear Any Jams: Remove any stuck paper or debris you find.
3. Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults
- Turn off the Printer: Ensure the printer is powered off.
- Hold Down Buttons: Press and hold the Resume button (the triangle inside a circle) and the Power button at the same time.
- Release the Buttons: Release both buttons simultaneously. This should reset the printer to its factory settings.
4. Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Prepare for Connection: Make sure your Wi-Fi network is operational.
- Use the HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer.
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up a new printer.
- When prompted, connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
5. Update Firmware via USB
Since your printer cannot connect to Wi-Fi, you can update the firmware using a USB connection:
- Download Firmware Update: Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware update for your printer model. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Connect Printer to Computer: Use a USB cable to connect your printer to your computer.
- Run the Update: Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware update on your printer.
6. Check for Error Codes
- Identify Blinking Lights: HP DeskJet 2700, 4100, 4800 printers - Blinking lights and error codes
- Follow Specific Instructions: Depending on the identified error codes, follow the specific instructions provided.
Refer to this document: HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
