Well I just got off the phone with HP ...AGAIN

Hopefully it is resolved now but only time will tell.

He had me re-connect the wi-fi Direct then connect my phone to that network and try to print and it did fine.   He then said if it prints that way there is something in the router that must be configured (Opening the ports).   He provided me with all of the port numbers and I logged in to my router and assigned all of the needed ports to be opened with the ip address of my printer.   I then turned off the wi-fi direct and my phone found the printer and I was able to print fine.

Now we will see if it holds and hopefully that was the solution

Well numerous phone calls from HP including about five that they called me back to keep checking and still not resolved ... I will give them credit they really tried but we still cannot get it going ... last attempt today was to just restore the printer to all the defaults and reconfigure the wireless connection in the house to the network and it printed fine and then about two hours later nothing . As of right now the only way I can print from my iPhone is to disconnect from my home network then re-connect to the printer network via the direct Wi-Fi name then it prints fine .... but if I go into the embedded Web server on my computer it shows that the printer is connected fine to the home network via wireless

I am having the same problem. I went to a friend's house who has an Hp envy printer and was able to AirPrint without a problem. I am going to take my printer to her house and try to print on her network using her router/modem (Comcast). If it works, I'm thinking that my Hp 6700 all in one printer might not be able to work with my new dual band Linksys EA7300 router. It prints once after I reset everything and then drops the signal. For some reason my dell computer Windows 10 works fine. I couldn't get Linksys to confirm compatibility with Bonjour packets.

Anyway I might buy another router and see if it works. I'll keep you updated re my success or failure next week.
