HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi, I have the HP Envy 6000 (not 6020e) and am having trouble connecting. I've downloaded the HP Smart app (tried it both on my computer and phone), but my printer never shows up as an option. So, I connect directly to the printer, which of course disconnects me from wifi, meaning I can't restart HP Smart (because I'm offline) but can go back a step and look for my printer, but it's never there. I've tried rebooting everybody. I've tried holding down the wifi blinking light or holding it down in combo with the info light. I've tried it with my computer connecting directly or my phone connecting directly. I've even tried connecting one device directly and looking for the printer with the other one (of course this didn't work but I really was trying every path I could). Does anyone have any advice? Thank you! I'm using OS 12.5 (21G72) if more specifics are needed beyond Monterey.

Hi @mrenzobean,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your WI-FI setup issues HP Envy 6000 all-in-one Printer Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist you better:

  • How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

While you respond to that, Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
