Hi @Leslie47167,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP Envy 6400 Series printer won't AirPrint or print from the internet, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Check Printer and Network Connection
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple device or computer.
- Restart your printer: Turn it off, wait for about 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Restart your router: Unplug it, wait for about 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
- Restart your device: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or computer.
2. Update Firmware and Software
- Update the printer firmware: Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
- Update your device: Ensure your Apple device or computer has the latest software updates.
3. Check AirPrint Compatibility
- Ensure that AirPrint is enabled on your printer. Most HP Envy 6400 Series printers support AirPrint, but double-checking doesn’t hurt.
4. Reset Network Settings on Printer
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
5. Verify AirPrint on iOS Device
- On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and ensure Wi-Fi is turned on and connected to the same network as the printer.
- Open an app (e.g., Safari, Mail) and try to print. Tap the Share icon, then Print, and select your HP Envy printer.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.

Hi @Leslie47167,
Please find the next steps below.
6. Check Printer Settings for Internet Printing
- Printer settings: Access the printer’s web interface by entering the printer’s IP address into a web browser. Check for any settings that might be blocking internet printing.
- Proxy settings: Ensure that the printer’s network settings are correctly configured. Incorrect proxy settings can block internet printing.
Advanced Troubleshooting
1. Check Router Settings
- Check for MAC address filtering: Ensure that your router does not have MAC address filtering enabled, or if it does, make sure your printer’s MAC address is added to the allowed list.
- Check for port blocking: Ensure that ports used by AirPrint (port 9100) and HP printing services are not blocked.
2. Reinstall Printer Drivers (for Computers)
- Remove the printer: On your computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Remove device.
- Reinstall the printer: Add the printer again by selecting Add a printer or scanner.
3. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP support website to automatically diagnose and fix printing issues.
4. Check AirPrint from Another Device
- Try printing from another iOS device or Mac to see if the issue is specific to one device.
If the Problem Persists
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be helpful to contact phone support.
