OFFICE JET 8720

I recently changed my ink cartridges (black & color). Prior to the change,  I was getting a pop up message on my computer when I wanted to print color pages asking me if I would like to continue in black&white only since the color ink was low. I would opt for yes and proceed. Now that I have installed the new color ink cartridges the printer won't print color regardless of what I do. Unfortunately, I can't use the SCAN DOCTOR software because it asks for admin rights to my computer but since I have a company comptuter I am unable to download. Before the ink starting getting low everything worked just fine.

@CREGN

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Are you using genuine HP ink cartridge?

Is the copy working fine?

Could you please help me with the operating system of your computer.

If you are facing the same issue while making a copy it could be a cartridge issue.

I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Then, click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-4650-all-in-one-printer-series/5447930/document/c... and follow the instruction.
