Hi @IdentityZero
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are getting a connection error message when attempting to use web services on your Officejet 8610 printer.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to my post earlier on the thread with the steps, including screen shots on how to do this. Instead of using Google’s public DNS servers please use Level3’s public DNS servers. The Primary DNS server value is 209.244.0.3 and the Alternate/Secondary DNS server is 209.244.0.4.
Once you have set the DNS servers you should be able to connect with web services. Once the communication error message with web services is resolved you should have no issues with your Instant Ink subscription because now the printer can communicate with HP. If you continue to have problems with your Instant Ink subscription, please contact the Instant Ink support team for your country/region. I have them listed below.
United States – HP Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 )indicating your call is about the Instant Ink Program) Monday to Friday 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
United Kingdom - HP Customer Support at 0207 660 0596 (indicating your call is about the Instant Ink Program) Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. (except bank holidays)
France - HP Customer Service at 0969 320 435 (indicating your call is about the Instant Ink Program) Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. (except holidays)
Germany - HP Customer Service at 069 2999 3434 (indicating your call is about the Instant Ink Program) Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. (except public holidays)

Hey, GeoffZ!
Thanks a bunch for this post.
It fixed the Web Services issue I have with my brand new HP 8630 hooked up to a 2011 iMac running Yosemite.
I spent almost one hour last night with the HP no hlep line (via the Phillippines), they were not able to help, set up a 2nd level phone appointment for the today day (HP did not keep the appointment), and in less than 15 minutes, your solution fixed the problem.
Thumbs up!

I've tried the google dns and the 209.244.0.3 address... both return the error WIPV4 Page 12029
This printer worked until a fiber line was installed in the house and the modem was removed. Now i have only a netgear router.
Printer works on the wifi network but wont connect to web services.
Frustrating.

This does not answer the the question. When I enter the IP address for my HP OfficeJet 8610 print into my browser, I receive this screen display: System Error. An error has occurred.
I can no longer access Web Services, which evidently prevents me from printing from any device. I even did the Partial Reset on the print and re-installed the printer software (which apparently worked for other users), but to no avail. I am beginning to think the answer is to quit HP Ink and buy a different brand of printer.
Suggestions before I bail on HP?
