Trying to set-up new HP ENVY Inspire 7224e printer using HP Smart app, I get to 'Connected printing services' page

In order to set-up cloud services like 'Instant Ink', etc. but I have to choose 

  • Select Manage Options to give consent by category.
  • Select Accept All to give consent for all categories including printer analytics, advertising and personalization.

or

  • Select Decline Optional Data to decline consent for the category's printer analytics, advertising and personalization.

 ...when I agree to any of the privacy options I land on a page with the following

We apologize for the inconvenience! Please exit setup and try again later to resolve this issue. If you continue to have issues setting up, contact HP Support.

(Error Code: UU_500_EB000U0417)
 
When I go back to the home page, the printer is only partially setup and shows the following message "Finish setup to use HP Smart Features. When I try to do that, the app repeats the above, over & over.
 
I've been at this for days now, was even on the phone with HP support for an hour today with no joy at all, HELP PLEASE!

This is also happening when I use my Android phone to try setting up the same printer.

Same here with M110we. Exclamation sign indicator just blinks fast. If you click the middle button it just prints the tech page with no issue but if you try sending something to the print it says error - jammed page. But there is no jammed pages found inside and printing of printer statistics pages work.

 

Looks like a bad software bug.

same issue with Lasetjet M234sdwe. has anyone found a solution to this?

Yes, the solution for me was to take this printer back to the store, then wait for a week while they sent it to HP, and in a week or so, HP confirmed that it's a defect and replaced it with the brand-new printer.

After a LOT of tries I managed to resolve this issue by going to printer settings on HP smart app and changing the Country/Region under Preferences to UK. Hope this helps!
