New phone, Moto G7 Power, running Android 9. HP Smart correctly finds my printer, and photos on the phone. It does not find any PDFs, simply reportiing "No items". I've set permissions for storage, and camera and location (just in case). I was previously able to print with a Wileyfox 2X running Android 8.1. Any suggestions? Ta.
Edit: I've emailed the developers and will post here if I get a reply.

Let's try not to open the file using HP Smart app, I would suggest you try to open the PDF file and then try to Click on Print and check if that works.
Alternatively, I would suggest you try to save a PDF file on your phone and then open HP Smart app and then try printing and check if that helps.
Let me know the outcome!
Cheers.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Community,
- Did you update the HP Smart App and your New phone?
- Did you try to uninstall and reinstall HP Smart App?
Meanwhile, uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart app on your mobile.
This should do the trick and fix the issue.

@Jeet_singh - ah, I see I can't tag people 🙂
Hello Jeet, and thank you for continuing with this. Yes, I can see PDFs on the phone. To open them, I have the choice of FBReader, Amazon Kindle, PDF Capture, and Drive PDF Viewer.

Hello Jeet
Yes, I have printed a file by opening it in Drive PDF Viewer, and selecting print. (It doesn't print the inline comments, but that's not your problem.)
Alternatively, I would suggest you try to save a PDF file on your phone and then open HP Smart app and then try printing and check if that helps.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. I think that's what I've been trying unsuccessfully to do:
- Somehow place PDF file on phone.
- Open HP Smart.
- Press Print Documents
- Press PDFs
Result is No items.
Thanks!
Edit: ah! I see what you mean. I took an existing PDF on the phone, and printed that to a different PDF, also on the phone. The HP Smart app successfully finds that PDF. That is the only PDF shown - I have a lot of them. In other words, it finds PDFs created on the phone, but not ones put there from other sources. Strange!

I'm marking this as resolved, because there is a workaround. Xodo even handles inline comments correctly. It would be good if the devs would take a look at the underlying issue. As a minimum, this behaviour should be documented somewhere

I'm glad you got this issue sorted out. However, I have gone ahead and escalated this case to our R&D team. So that they can work on this and get back to you with more information.
I would suggest you give us 72 hours so that we can check and get back to you with more updates.
If you don't hear from me in the next 72 business hours, send me a private message as a reminder.
Thank you and have a wonderful week ahead 😊
