HP smart is no longer compatible

Hello!

Until recently, I used hp smart on a tablet, with Android 8.0. But now there is an inscription in Google Play that hp smart is no longer compatible with my tablet.  So I won't be able to reinstall HP Smart in the future. Also, the latest version does not find printers on the network to add to the list. Every update only makes things worse. 

How can I use the printer now if the tablet was the only device from which I could print and scan on an HP printer? There are no more operating system updates for it. Perhaps the application of previous versions can be installed through the apk, but where can I get it from the official source ? My tablet is not so old to change only because of the inability to use a printer. 😞

What happened?

It appears the documentation might have been updated sometime between the end of November 2022 and sometime during or before March 2023 to include the change that running HP Smart on Android requires Android 9.x.

The actual version requirement likely changed during that time frame.

The minimum requirements do change for each device (iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, Android) -- and will likely change again for each of the different device Operating System versions as they advance.
