I am able to do things in the HP Utility that require a username and password. Username is "admin" and password is one I chose. When I try to do a job, though, it evidently requires a different username and password. For example, I am trying to do a scan to email and when I go to the setup, as required, the above username and password work. But after setup and click "Start Scan" and have to enter a username and password. When I enter the same username and password I get an error message saying one or both are wrong. There is no option so retrieve or change them. What should I do?

Hi @neoflyer
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the scan to email.
To better assist you -
1.) Who is the Email Provider?
2.) Have you enabled 2 factor authentication for your email?
3.) Are you able to login to webmail?
I'd suggest you try re-configuring the Scan to Email feature. Please refer to page# 54 from the User Manual for steps.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I am an HP Employee

gmail.com is my email provider. At the time I tried the “scan to email” function I was logged into gmail with my web browser on my Mac computer. If what was required was my email password why doesn’t it say “email password” rather than just password. At the point I was at I didn’t know if it wanted my computer password, my HP password or whatever. I didn’t think about the email password. It would help if they told me what password they are looking for.
I’ll try again and if necessary will go through the setup again.
Thanks
