I have been printing just fine from my Galaxy Note 5 using the HP eprint app since I got my printer. Now they retired the HP eprint app and printing has to be done through the HPSmart app. Well... the HPsmart app will not let me print Word documents. It only gives me the option to print PDF files. The word document files says "file format not supported." This is very frustrating because it worked just fine with the HP eprint app.... and if I can no longer print word documents since they took the eprint app away... then my printer is now useless. Help??

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, you're unable to print from HP Smart (word file)

I'd like to thank you for the detailed description of your concern, as you have ensured I don't have to ask any more questions, that said,

HP Smart app does not support Word documents. Here is the list of supported documents/Photos you could print:

Android devices: Photos (JPEG, PNG) and PDF documents saved on your mobile device. You can also print photos and PDF documents from Google Drive, Dropbox, and Facebook.

You will have to use your PC to print Word files or you could use HP ePrint service: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03721293

Hope this answers your query,

If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to us,

Cheers!
