I need help! I have bought HP OfficeJet 5200 All in One series and I can’t get it to stay connected to my iPhone. I get them connected through direct Wi-Fi and right away, it says that the printer has no internet. Even when they connect. I have already talked to my isp provider and they said everything is fine on their end. Am I missing something?

I have used wizard setup a few times and I have turned off and on the printer and internet. It still isn’t fully connecting!

To isolate the issue, please help me with the following:

  • Are you able to connect the printer and your iPhone to your home network?
  • Where do you see the no internet message?
  • Could you share the screenshot of the same?

Keep me posted.

Cheers 🙂

@Misfitwanders, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you connect the printer to your Apple device through Wifi Direct, it temporarily disconnects the device from the internet. If you are printing any web-based content make sure you have them opened before proceeding.

  1. Confirm the printer is turned on, cartridges are installed, and plain paper is loaded in the main tray.

  2. On the Apple device, open Settings, tap Wi-Fi and then tap the printer with DIRECT in the name (Example: DIRECT-72-HP Officejet Pro 6970) from the list of available networks.

  3. If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in.

  4. You can choose to allow devices to access the printer without a password, or you can create a custom password. Go to How do I change the Wi-Fi Direct password, login settings, and printer name?

  5. Open the item you want to print, and then tap Print from the app or action menu.

  6. Select your printer from the list of available printers, and then tap Print.

  7. Reconnect to your local Wi-Fi network after the print job completes.

If you do not wish to get disconnected from the internet, try connecting the printer to your network directly. Follow the steps below:

  1. Touch Wireless Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard. The printer searches for available networks.

  2. Touch the name of your wireless network.

  3. If your wireless network does not display in the list of wireless networks, touch Enter New Network Name, and then type the name of your wireless network.

  4. Type the WEP or WPA key (network password), and then touch Done.

If you do not know your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password

Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.

Make sure your Apple device is also connected to the same network and try printing.

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers 🙂

Hey,

I have done all this stuff mutliple times and my iphone will connect, but right away it disconnects. The printer still shows up on my phone but it says no internet. Which I have talked to my ISP provider and they said that the issue is not from them and that I should talk to you guys.
