I keep receiving the message that I cannot use my printer unless I sign up for the HP Printer Ink Program. I do NOT want to re-enroll in this program.  Are you really telling people that they cannot use the HP Printer without the program? Please email me the instructions in how to fix my printer, so that I can buy my own print cartridges when I feel like it. [removed per Rules Of Participation].  Very disappointed..

@sapnakmalhotra,

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums! I see from your post you are getting repetitive message on your HP Printer and I can understand how frustrating it could be at times. Don't worry we're here to help you.

Let's try to address this issue one by one.

Step 1. Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Step 2: Disable Web services.

Please follow the steps suggested in this support document to disable/turn off web services - HP Printers - Turning Off Web Services

Step 3: Perform a Hard reset on the printer and once done, please install a set of regular ink cartridges and check if that helps.

Step 4. If the issue persists, the last resort would be to perform an advanced reset on the printer.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely,

I've unenrolled from Instant Ink and my printer won't work.  I've done a reset based on instructions from a similar question in this forum, and turned off Web settings and it still does not work.  I WILL NOT go and purchase new ink (that is not from the Instant Ink program) - no one should have to do that. You can send me free ink if you'd like, but I've paid for the ink that  I have and that is not an acceptable answer. My daughter needs this printer for schoolwork every day and this is a huge issue.  Please advise.
