Will the Jetdirect 2700w usb work with the M806x and the M880z? 

And how does it work exactly?

I was told that you connect a 2700w to the printer and a 2800w to a laptop and can print directly without being on the companies network is this correct.

You connect the wi-fi accessory to the printer only, the laptop has already wireless,  and then you connect the printer to a wireless network.

that is the thing I cant connect the printer to the companies network its blocked. that's why I thought that the 2700w and the 2800w will create a network of it own kinda.

In that case, you need to use wireless direct, and then you can establish a wireless connection between the notebook and printer without the need of company wi-fi
