Welcome to the HP Community @scoutlast,

I understand you have forgotten the administrative password for your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251nw. I will be happy to help.

I'll private message you the instructions you need to do a NVRAM reset. Note that the reset will erase your wireless settings so you'll likely have to reconnect to your network when the reset's finished. (It's just like setting up the printer out of box at that point).

If this helps, show appreciation for my reply by hitting the “thumbs up” below, or click the "Accept as Solution" button if I have helped you reach a solution.

I hope this helps, and have a great day.

I am having the same problem.  I  forgot the password and cannot reset the password on my LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw.  Can you help.

Found my own answer - factory reset.

  1. Power off
  2. Touch bottom left corner of screen and power on
  3. When permanent storage init appears let go and printer will reset to defaults.

Thanks to   whose help appeared here and this you-tube video which showed me where to touch.
