Hello,
I have received a few dozen calls this past year about HP printers that all conveniently stopped working shortly after an update, or right after the warranty ends. (What a coincidence!) It's getting noticeably more frequent as the models get newer and newer.
This time it's an OfficeJet Pro 8035e. The unit is unable to connect to wifi, it cannot be shut down, it just says 'shutting down' for several hours. Unplugging and plugging back in doesn't fix anything. Factory reset is not making any difference.
This one's warranty just ended, just received an update, then conveniently stopped working.
Why does HP keep doing this to their own customers? At what point does it become fraud?

Hi @letmepickaname,
Thank you for your response,
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Officejet Pro 8035e. While I can't directly solve the problem, I can offer some troubleshooting steps that might help.
- Power Cycle: Since unplugging and plugging back in didn't work, try a more thorough power cycle. Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it disconnected for at least 5-10 minutes. Then, plug it back in and see if it starts up properly.
- Reset Wi-Fi Settings: Even though you mentioned a factory reset, double-check if there's a specific option to reset the Wi-Fi settings separately. Sometimes, printers have separate options for network settings.
- Update Firmware: If possible, try updating the printer's firmware. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve connectivity issues and bugs. You might need to connect the printer to a computer via USB to perform the update.
- Check Network Settings: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that there are no issues with the router. Try connecting other devices to the same network to verify its functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
