Hello,
I have an HP OFFICEJET PRO 8715 that has worked really well up until a few days ago, when it just stopped printing or copying. It is connected to the internet. I have unplugged it and plugged it back in. Reset the wireless password. Reset the router. Run the Print & Scan doctor, but nothing is helping. When I try to print from my computer, the printer icon shows up, but then an error message pops up that just says the printer has an error. No code. It's the same with all the computers. Also, when I try to copy something directly from the printer, nothing happens there, either, so it probably isn't a wireless problem. It is turned on, and sometimes it makes the noises, sounding like it's getting ready to print, but then nothing.
I'd be grateful for any help.
Thank you!

P.s. I just noticed that it seems to always have the red x up in the right corner (the cancel print icon), that indicates it is printing. When I go into the jobs tab on the screen, it says "printing" and the circle is spinning, but it won't let me cancel it and it isn't printing anything. Update: I kept trying to cancel the printing that it thinks it's doing, but the red x always comes back. I'm guess that's the problem, so if anyone has any suggestions as to how to get it to stop doing that, I would appreciate it. Thanks again.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you
Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support. We appreciate your patience.
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Then try and make a copy using the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
